Feeling Seen and Appreciated

Many of us yearn to feel seen, heard and appreciated at work ... and in our relationships.

Some aspects of this yearning are innate to the human species, especially the deep desire for connection.

But the angels are pointing out that other aspects of this “need” to feel seen and appreciated actually stem from subconscious programming.

You see, many of us have been “trained” to seek outside approval ... and to prove our worth through accomplishment and achievement. We’ve also been trained to seek outside proof of the value of our contributions, like getting an A on a test ... or a positive review ... or a promotion.

This “training” often becomes subconscious programming. So, we simply accept that it’s “normal” to look outside of ourselves in order to feel seen, heard and appreciated.

But looking outside is a problem: It causes us to be “at the mercy” of others. And those others may not be able to see and appreciate us because, often, they’re busy dealing with their own “stuff.”

Unfortunately, when our yearning bumps up against their stuff, we almost always end up experiencing some degree of pain and suffering.

Taking Back Our Power

The angels are reminding us that we don’t have to give away our power in this way. In fact, the angels are happy to dissolve any subconscious programming that no longer serves us, including programming that’s causing us to seek external validation and approval.

Rather than looking outside, the angels are reminding us that we can become self-seeing and self-appreciating.

For instance, we can see and appreciate the work we’ve done on a project, acknowledging and validating that we did the best work we were capable of at that particular moment.

Likewise, we can see and appreciate that we showed up as the most loving parent—or child, or friend—that we were capable of being in any particular moment.

You may have noticed that the angels are blending some compassion and self-love into the mix here. They’re encouraging us to see and appreciate the effort we’ve put in, the challenges we’ve been dealing with and the growth we’ve experienced along the way.

They’re also reminding us that we can always, always ask for their help. We can ask to see and appreciate ourselves through their eyes: through the eyes of divine, unconditional love.
